About UsHarvington Youth Project is a joint project founded in 1994 as a calibration between the Baptist Chapel and Anglican Church forming a Joint Steering Group to develop the Project which still runs to this day, the emphasis of the Youth Project is been evangelistic in its outlook with the work it does. The motto of the Youth Project is John 10:10 where Jesus says, ‘I have come to give life, life in all its fullness.’ The Project has a clear Spiritual dimension and the aim is to communicate in a relevant way the claims and teachings of Jesus Christ from an ecumenical view point. The Project therefore combines a healthy robust approach to both the physical and spiritual needs of young people. It is often uttered among those in churches up and down the country who value young people that young people are the church of tomorrow. Though this statement is true what would happen if we ditched this statement and instead believed that in fact, young people are as much the church of today. Harvington Youth Project stands by this statement and aims for, young people to be edified and God will be glorified through the work of the project. The work of the project is spearhead by their Children’s, Youth, and Family’s Worker James Bell-Winfrow, and a broad team of volunteers which enable the project to run. The youth project aims to bring out the potential of young people in Harvington, and helps them to realise their potential and involve them in the wider community. We want all these individuals to hear about the Christian faith and have an opportunity to respond to it, but we are also committed to loving and supporting them regardless of this decision. The website (and our Facebook page) is a continuation of the community, online, as we feel it is equally important to be a positive presence in the young people's virtual reality, and provide safe environments there too. To introduce your child to the youth groups and activities, find out more, or donate to the work, please look around the website. |
